Our 'Popping Candy EP' just turned two years old. To celebrate we've put together an album length expanded edition including unheard alternate mixes, experimental demos and a rare cover version. This release is exclusive to bandcamp.

Sometimes in the (very slow and laborious) rush to get a record finished we pass through some wild scenic places, without quite knowing what's in front of us. With hindsight these sonic snapshots take on more significance, and occasionally sound a lot better than they seemed at the time.

As exciting as a finished release can be, for us as a band often the most fun part is the journey itself . . . In this case, we felt that our adventures in sunny psychedelia and lo-fi pop might be worth sharing in a little more detail, so here is 'Popping Candy EP (Expanded Edition)'.

Here you will find layered 12 string guitars, ill-advised sax solos and such moments of musical transcendence as can only be reached by using way too much reverb. We fooled around with drum machines, violins and cellos and tried our hand at an iconic tune by the Flaming Lips. Everything got documented - even when it (often) got quite silly. This is simply a selection of some of our favourite bits.

In many ways this is Dayflower at our most ramshackle and strange, but also - fittingly - with radiant pop hooks bursting through the chaos. Yummy.
